All About the Vermont Lottery

Gambling Games at Golden Casino

The Vermont Lottery Commission was established in 1977 and was given a start up grant of $250,000 to get the lottery up and running. By February 1978 the first game “Green mountain Game was introduced and was a huge success so much so that the Vermont Lottery released its second game less than three months later which was an instant win scratch off. Within seven months the seed money that they borrowed had been paid back plus interest due to the lotteries overwhelming success among Vermont players.

Even though the lottery is over 20 years old, they still operate with a close nit family of employees. The staff consists of only 20 full time employees and five commissioners who oversee all lottery sales throughout the state.

Their mission was to be able to design, regulate, promote, distribute and sell lottery games of chance within the state of Vermont. They have done this while setting up a plan to make the lottery a profitable organization while making contributions to the education Fund and to help those with problem gambling.
